According to Law 5162/2024, this coverage is mandatory.
If you have an insured vehicle (car, motorcycle, trailer) and you're on the basic plan (Essential Covers), which does not include Natural Phenomena coverage, you'll need to add the Natural Disasters coverage. This covers you in the event of forest fires, floods, or earthquakes.
If you don’t add this coverage, the state will not provide you with any compensation.
